GAY PROPAGANDA!!!

Pride Month Begins...

It's pride month Walter. You know that means...

PRIDE MONTH SHRINE!!! Cause it's my favorite month of the year. It pisses off homophobes and I find that funny. Yeah

Things to clear up...

Lets get into it! But first, a mention from our sponsor NordVPN... (jk)

A Brief History

Look I hate history class so I'll make this super short so I don't bore you all okay. This section may not be 100% accurate I just searched up shit off of Google.

The LGBTQ community has been fighting for their rights since forever, but the most significant change has been the 20th and 21st centuries. The creaton of The Society for Human Rights in 1924, Daughters of Bilitis (the first lesbian rights organization) in 1955, and the Stonewall Riots in 1969 are some most significant LGBTQ events in it's early days.

On June 25, 1978, Gilbert Baker made the very first pride flag! Gilbert was also the very first openly gay elected official in California. Over the years the flag has changed a lot!

In 1999, President Bill Clinton declared June "Gay & Lesbian Pride Month." In 2009 President Barack Obama shortened it to "LGBT Pride Month." and in 2021 President Joe Biden added the Q, making it "LGBTQ Pride Month."

On June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal IN ALL 50 STATES!!!!!! And on November 5, 2024, Sarah McBride became the first transgender person to serve Congress!

But since January 2025, President Donald Trump has made it his goal to make LGBTQ progress go backwards. WHICH SUCKS!!! So we have to make effort to make sure it goes forward still!

LGBTQ+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trangender, and Queer, with the plus standing for other sexualities.

Here's a guide of some pride flags :D (made by tinkergnome)

Although the polyamory flag has been changed in 2022, and it's looks super pretty :>

Gay people have done awesome things over the years, such as George Washington Carver who created peanut butter, Sister Rosetta Tharpe who invented rock n' roll, Sally Ride who was the first American woman to go to space, and Tim Cook, who is the CEO of Apple!!!

Gay Terms on the Internet

The LGBTQ community became popular on the internet since the early 2000s, especially in fandom spaces! Here's some popular gay internet terms, with most of them originating in Japan!

My Own Identity Journey

I'm getting kinda personal here and it's lowkey kinda sad feel free to skip

When I was in middle school in like summer 2021-2022, I discovered this website called Quotev.

I was browsing all the quizzes, Invader Zim quizzes, Steven Universe quizzes, basic stuff. Until I discovered gay quizzes.

Took a couple of them, searched stuff up and discovered what the LGBTQ community was, and I labeled myself as lesbian for a short time.

Some of my early favorite gay ships were ZaDr (Zim and Dib from Invader Zim) (my opinions on this ship has changed a bit but that's a topic for another time) and Voxman (Professor Venomous x Boxman from OK K.O.!), discovering them when I used to use Amino!

I was scared to come out for a bit, finding out from people online that parents can be homophobic and see their child in a different way after they come out. But I'm very lucky to have supportive parents! My mom has taken me to a couple of pride events, such as my first pride parade in 2024 hosted by my synagouge and a teen pride event!

I changed my label from lesbian to bisexual in 2023-ish, because I discovered that I started to have a lot of fictional guy crushes. But I've been thinking that label isn't right still...

From what I can tell from other lesbians on the internet, lesbians will have a strong attachment to a fictional guy, and yet hate the idea of liking men.

The ever iconic tokitaffy shows this perfectly.

The thing that is stopping me from labeling myself as lesbian is this guy crush I had in middle school. I can't tell if it was platonic or romantic: I hated the idea of kissing him or dating him, but I really wanted to hang out with him. Even if he liked me for only my body I would ignore it (DON'T BE LIKE ME CHAT 💔💔💔).

But even after I got his Snapchat when we seperated to go to different high schools, I didn't feel the need to hang out with him anymore and my addiction to him subsided. I forgot about him for the most part.

This still racks my brain to this day. I hate the guys at my school because 99% of them are annoying and not attractive and I don't have any celebrity crushes, am I still bisexual despite all these things?

In contrast, the girls at my school are mostly mean to me and yet are so pretty. But finding a gay girl at school and even outside of school is like looking for a nail in a haystack (or however the phrase goes). Just having a gay pin on my backpack makes me a big stupid target.

Will I ever have the girl romance I see in fiction? It seems so foriegn, so unreachable. Finding people on the internet who have a loving gay relationship makes me incredibly jealous. "Oh but you're still so young! You have time!" People in their adulthood have trouble finding romance, especially in this day in age.

Other thing I've been having trouble grasping is crushes. I can barely tell the difference between a friend crush or a romantic one. How am I supposed to find the one that I truly want to be with?

UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM sorry that shit was corny I'll probably regret sharing that yap session later. TLDR:

This image right here. Is my current situation.

Conclusion

GAY PEOPLE ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
